Slide hammers are used to transmit an impact force into an object that requires pulling, and does so without actually striking that object directly, and therefore reducing the risk of accidental damage. A typical slide hammer design is that of a long metal pole/ shaft that has an attachment on one of the ends and a stop on the opposite end.
